CHANGE – It’s always the same old story

replace (something) with something else, especially something of the same kind that is newer or better; substitute one thing for (another).

The word that jumps out here is ‘better’. If that were the case, then I’d understand. But it isn’t. So I don’t. The change we of Templeton will see if Lobo Lane goes ahead will not be better. How can it? When it is worse.

If I’d wanted to live by a big fancy apartment complex, I already would be. But not, I don’t. I live by the elements of town I admire. Those that pump my energy, and remind me what I aspire to be. Elements like the racketball court. Elements like the beautiful vacant lot aka best place in town to see the sun set. Elements like The Knob Shop – the heart and soul of my beloved town.

A fancy building will only make those places look worse than they already do. And you can kiss Sunset Hill good bye, because that is the proposed development site. On no, I’m just now realising that the only people who will be seeing the sunset over Templeton will be this in that very building. And that is not fair, is it? Why should the wealthy get to buy everything? Okay, I can see why, but sunsets? Come on! They are free. And as far as I know, we still have freedom in this country. We still have freedom in Templeton. Or do we?

So if you’re like me, and you like things as they are, please sign the petition and say NO to Lobo Lane!
